About Mark Smith

We have all heard the old saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” but that’s not true at all. The right picture is worth much more than a simple group of words. The right picture can have a dramatic impact on a single person. It can inspire them. It can easily conjure up some long lost memory that has been buried deep within the gray matter for years and with that memory comes a flood of emotions.

The right picture can make you laugh, smile or cry. It can make you feel comfortable, scared or anxious. It can make you feel love, lust or even hate. One single picture can take you to beautiful destinations that you have only dreamed about. It can introduce you to a world you never knew existed.

For that one moment you can be completely lost in that picture. It doesn’t matter if the photograph is a beautiful foreign landscape that is bathed in light, or a sexy model that makes your heart skip a beat. Nothing else exists, even if it is for one fleeting second.

If one single picture has the power to do this to a single person, what happens when an image touches more than one person’s life?

That picture can inspire million dollar advertising campaigns, hit television shows, classic motion pictures and novels that bridge generations.

An image can change a nation’s perspective on other cultures. It can make people feel anger, empathy, regret, or remorse. An image can fuel political upheavals, change the minds of voters and fuel brutal wars where there is no “winner.”

I think it is safe to say that one single picture is worth far more than a thousand words. To put it simply, one single picture can change the world.

What happened to the “about me” page? Like a photograph, it turned out to be much more. You don’t want to know anything about me anyways. The real story, it has nothing to do with me. The real story, it is buried deep within these photographs.
